D Cure is a non-profit organization that promotes and funds scientific research in Israel, aimed at finding a cure and better treatments for diabetes. Established in direct response to the growing threat of diabetes world-wide, D Cure deals with both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Founded by world renowned expert in diabetes, Professor Itamar Raz and businessman, Mr. Boaz Misholi, D Cure is an innovative model which promotes, enhances and facilitates diabetes research by:
- Direct funding – D Cure supports numerous scientific projects in 12 research institutions in Israel
- Initiating multidisciplinary research collaborations which include cellular biology, engineering, biotechnology and nanotechnology within and outside Israel
- Changing non-cooperation into full cooperation and joint research
- Forming the Universities, Institution and IDF into one research group by the promotion of young researchers and educating them to collaborate.
- Reinforcing the link between basic and clinical research and patient care.
- Organizing conferences , scientific meetings and workshops
- Providing a central body for optimizing communication and collaboration amongst scientists, thereby strengthening and enhancing the pace of diabetes research
- Collaborating with local industry to develop innovative solutions
- Collaborating with leading international organizations in the field of diabetes
- D-Cure is developing a national plan for the prevention of diabetes, education for a healthy way of living within the schools, kindergartens and their surroundings as well as for adults
- D-Cure is promoting the national prevention program within the Israeli Government .
All donations to D Cure are fully tax refundable in Israel and the USA.
