D-Cure's vision is in creating a new generation of researcher's and doctors who will learn and implement a new research culture. This new generation will be one who will cooperate with their colleagues within the different research institutions and hospitals in Israel and abroad, who will be in constant and direct touch with the doctors dealing with patient care and clinical research and who will place emphasis on research with a high potential to find a cure to Diabetes in the future.
Each year Israel’s research and medical institutions produce some of the world’s most outstanding PhD candidates in all fields of science and medicine. D Cure’s “Program for the Advancement of Young Diabetes Scientists” is being created to invest in these brilliant researchers to ensure that they have the maximum opportunity to excel in the field of diabetes research. The program attempts to accelerate their development by providing funding that enables the highest quality of research, with unprecedented access to and collaboration with leading scientists who serve as their advisors and mentors. Participants will also be expected to work closely with other members of the D Cure scientific community to share and leverage knowledge that can propel diabetes research to new levels of success.
In addition, many outstanding young scientists contemplate, and in the worst case actually seek, opportunities abroad often in different fields because of a lack of resources in Israel. D Cure believes that it is crucial for the success of the Israeli diabetes community that an aggressive effort is made to encourage and support these future stars in remaining in, and returning to, Israel as front line partners in seeking a cure for diabetes. We give equal consideration to those with the potential to help shape the future of diabetes research who live in Israel and to those of equal caliber who have sought opportunities abroad.
D Cure’s “Program for the Advancement of Young Diabetes Scientists” employees a holistic approach to investing in the future of diabetes research and care.
